在Colette系列中几乎为“通用型”拾音头MK 6 只使用一个振膜。当旋转拾音头的顶盖

时，内部窗式系统会改变振膜周围的声音特性，从而会改变其指向特性，即从全指向形变为心形再变为8字形。

在全指向性设置中，拾音头是一只到最低频仍具有平滑响应的压力传声器。（有些厂商使用双膜来获得可调的方向模式。但这样会致使全向设置成为压力梯度传声器，具有更明显的固载噪声和近讲效应，而无法产生压力传声器的全低频响应。这种方式还会导致心形模式在低频上丢失指向性。）在心形设置中，MK 6 近似 MK 4V，而在8字形设置中，它类似于MK 8 。

同 MK 8 话筒一样，0°轴是垂直于话筒，在拾音头底部的边缘处用一个红点标识出来。所标识的黑点为180°方向。

The MK 6 operates with a single diaphragm. Whenthe ribbed cap of the capsule is rotated, a system ofinternal shutters alters the acoustic chambering aroundthe diaphragm to change its characteristic from omnito cardioid to figure-8.

In the omnidirectional setting the MK 6 is a truepressure transducer with flat response down to thelowest frequencies. (Other manufacturers use twodiaphragms to achieve a switchable pattern arrangement. But that causes the “omnidirectional” setting tobehave as a pressure-gradient transducer, with greatervulnerability to solid-borne sound and proximity effect,while failing to produce the full low-frequencyresponse of a pressure transducer. It also causes thecardioid pattern to lose directivity at low frequencies.)

In the cardioid setting, the MK 6 closely resembles theMK 4V, while in the figure-8 setting it resembles theMK 8.

As with the MK 8, the 0° axis is perpendicular to thebody of the capsule and is indicated by a red dot atthe lower rim of the capsule. A black dot marks the180° direction.
